‘You are like my grandson, don’t give such speeches from now on’; Digvijay Singh’s advice to Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s son

By-elections are due in the coming month on two assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. One of these seats is Budhni and the other is Vijaypur. Budhni seat has become vacant after Shivraj Singh Chauhan became MP from Vidisha. This seat is a stronghold of BJP. This is the reason why BJP has put its prestige at stake here. BJP has made Ramakant Bhargava its candidate. He will file his nomination today i.e. on Friday. Budhni is the strongest fort of Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s son Kartikeya Chauhan has taken charge of the campaign in his father’s impenetrable fort. But his one speech and the reaction of Congress leader Digvijay Singh on it are being discussed a lot.

What did Kartikeya say?

Kartikeya, son of former Madhya Pradesh CM and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, said during campaigning that if the Congress candidate wins from Budhni assembly seat, not a single brick will be laid. He said, “If it is 19-20, who will suffer the loss? Why should we shoot ourselves in the foot? Why should we spoil our reputation by tampering with our polling? Don’t we have to go to the CM and Chief Minister to get work done? Tell me, Sarpanch ji, how will you get the work done? If it is 19-20, which road will you take to the leaders to get work done? If by mistake the Congress MLA wins, not a single brick will be laid in anyone’s village.”

You are neither a Sarpanch nor an MLA, don’t give such a speech

Digvijay Singh reacted to this speech of Kartikeya. He wrote on his official X account that Kartikeya, don’t give such speeches from now on. Learn from your father, Shivraj Singh. In a democracy, both the government and the opposition cooperate in building India. I have been the Chief Minister for 10 years. But I never used this type of language. Your father is a witness. In the Panchayat Raj Act, the responsibility of doing construction work is of the Sarpanch and not the MLA. You are neither a Sarpanch nor an MLA right now. You are like my grandson, not my son. This is my opinion. Whether you believe it or not, you know. Jai Siya Ram.
